I told you that I have been having a bunch of fun with this stamp set! This is a card that I designed for the September meeting for the South Burlington stamp club. I’m still in love with this stamp set, and I’ve been busily creating samples for a class that I’m planning. Stay tuned in the next few days for an announcement for this class – I’m quite pleased with the projects (if I do say so myself).

I’ve been seeing vellum show up more frequently on paper crafting projects shared online, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon with this card. I think that the punched leaves in Stampin’ Up!’s cardstock vellum add a special sumthin’ sumthin’ to this card. I like the contrast of those elements with the higgledy piggledy linen thread that peeks out in random loops underneath the center element.

I used this sketch as the launch point for this card. I then used the colors from the oh-so-gorgeous Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper as the inspiration for this pretty fall colored flower. This lovely DSP is part of the DSP promotion this month, btw. Check out my previous blog post for the details. Just this morning I saw some mums that were very similar to this color scheme, so you really can see flowers like this out in the real world. Since the card base is so dark I also stamped a flower on a Very Vanilla panel on the inside of the card, too. I took the picture of the card angled a little bit so you could get a wee peek at the inside panel.
