Isn't it fun?!?
I was inspired to create this card by a posting on a fellow demonstrators blog. I did change it up a bit to make it my own, tho. I just love this color combination, and I think it makes a beautiful, cheery Christmas card. To create the brown frame, I tried out my Designer Frames embossing folder that I purchased recently. I hand cut around the outside of the embossed image which was pretty darned easy to do. I think it creates a lovely focal point for the card and frames the pennant tree beautifully. I cut the red mat for the inside dimensions of the frame. I will admit that I had to make a few "shave" cuts of the red to get it to fit just right, but it didn't take me that long. I prefer to make eensy teensy cuts to get it perfect than risk making it too small. I also hand cut the tree, base and star images before placing them on the card. It definitely adds a little bit to the "build" time, but I think it adds something to the final result.
