I purchased the Trucking Along stamp set a while ago and I finally pulled it out and inked it up over the weekend. This set is fantastic for any season with some great images and sentiments that are so versatile. There is a coordinating punch that you can use to create a truck with wheels, fenders and windows. It’s really a fantastic Online Exclusive bundle! I do have one quibble with the evergreen tree that I used on my card. When you go out and by your Christmas tree, you would never, ever put it in the back of the truck with the top sticking up like this. It’s a perfect recipe to have your tree get blown out of the bed of the truck unless you are driving very slowly. I decided that it’s not about being authentic, it’s artistic and cute and I need to let it go.

I created my card to participate in this current challenge on the Freshly Made Sketches blog site. I tried to diecut my stamped truck with my Deckled Circles dies, but it was either too big with too much white space or too cramped. I had a whole stack of these stamped to make a bunch of cards, so I needed to figure out something that would work so that my time wasn’t wasted. After going through several layering dies that I have, I settled on the Nested Essentials dies which fit the imagery perfectly.

You also may be wondering about the background stamp that I used. I had a retired stamp called Festive Foliage out for a technique I was learning and I was too lazy to grab something current. You could create a similar look with the large holly outline image in the Joy of Noel stamp set, which is currently available (but retiring soon).
