It seems like ages ago that I created this card for one of my virtual club meetings. It was only a couple of weeks, but time is still moving very strangely in our COVID world. I’m getting really antsy to get my vaccine and be able to see people in person again. At this point, I don’t have an idea on when I’ll be eligible to get the jab, but I’m hoping that it will be pretty soon. Anyhow… the best thing that I as a cardmaker can do right now is to send some cards to people to lift their spirits. Everyone that I know really appreciates receiving a handmade card in their mailbox, and it’s been especially true for the last year as we’re hunkering in at home to stay safe.
I used this old sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch! site as the inspiration for my card design. I’m so bummed that the site is no longer offering new challenges, but I’m so thankful that I can still reference past layouts for ideas.
I knew that I wanted to highlight the absolutely gorgeous products in the Fine Art Floral suite from the January – June catalog for this card for the group. The patterned paper is so beautiful, and each sheet has one side that looks like an acrylic painting. I wanted to present a card that really showed off some of that beautiful paper. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, please do because the coordinating products in this suite are fabulous!
