I recently purchased a wreath builder template from another company, and I’ve been hankering to give it a try. I watched a couple of videos on YouTube to see how people created with it, and then looked through my Stampin’ Up!™ stamps to find something that would work with the template. The key is that the stamps need to be small enough so that they can be stamped repeatedly without overlapping. I thought about using the wee stamps in the More Than Autumn set but I’m kinda needing a break from the Holidays. The Layers of Beauty stamp set has a couple of the smaller images that worked well. One thing that I will try the next time I use the template is having the stamp angled rather than coming out straight from the center area. I think that might have allowed me to fit in another stamped image. For this card I used a BUNCH of the Champagne Iridescent Dots to fill in the section between the stamped flowers. I think this is definitely the most embellishments that I’ve used on a single card.
This current sketch was the inspiration for my card design. As I said, I was excited to try out my new wreath builder template and this sketch was the absolutely perfect opportunity to give it a go.
I don’t tend to make square cards, so I used a square panel on a standard card base instead. I think my hang-up is because of the extra postage required to send a card in a square envelope. Of course the easy “hack” for that is to put the square card in a standard A2 envelope – no extra postage required. I think it just bugs me to have the card slide around in the envelope, but that’s totally a “me” thing.
Love how you built the wreath. Lovely little image to use for it too! So glad you joined us this week at FMS!
Thanks Jen – I really appreciate your kind words.
