I can't believe it – I'm participating in another active challenge! I have been wanting to have some fun with this stamp and framelit bundle for a while, and this color combination was the perfect pairing. I am so happy with how this card turned out! I followed the color scheme I discuss below, and added Delighful Dijon for shading on the Daffodil Delight flower and Mossy Meadow for the veins in the leaves. I'm still sad that the Blendabilities markers are gone, but I used a different brand of alcohol marker to color some Basic Pearls to add some yellow bling accents. Aren't they purty?
Whenever I look for a color combination to use with floral images, I almost always want the combination to include a shade of green – you may be wondering why that is. I enjoy including some foliage along with the flowers, and many floral stamps include images of the leaves or stems. So, the color challenge that you see to the right was just the ticket for me to christen this gorgeous bundle. My first thought with the stamps was to use the color scheme that is in the coordinating paper (that is part of the bundle as well). I'm sure that I will still do that, but I wanted to branch out a bit and it seemed like kismet when I discovered this color challenge when I went looking on the interwebz.
When I saw this sketch challenge last week, I knew that I wanted to use these images in a card based on this layout. I just didn't find the time to pull it all together to meet the deadline. Oh well, I'm glad that I waited because I would have missed the color challenge if I rushed ahead. You will see that I rotated the card layout 90° from the sketch – again, that is an ok thing to do with sketches. I do really love this site for their sketch inspiration, and I can't wait to see what the next design will be. Will I be on my game and get a submission done on time? We'll all just have to wait and see.
