This was the second card that I created for the Essex stamp club “meeting”. I knew that I wanted to include a Christmas card in what we created, and I drew on several products from the August – December Mini Catalog. I drew some inspiration for the stamped leaves and boughs and the sentiment from a sample in the catalog. I really love how the stamps and dies coordinate in this bundle and I wanted to show it off to the club gals. I like the touch of texture from the embossing folder and the pretty background offered by the patterned paper. This is clearly a Christmas card, and I think the gals had fun creating their own version at home.
These are some more samples of cards using this great set. I know that I shared recently that I have tried to focus on sets from the August – December catalog that can be used for multiple seasons. Clearly this set doesn’t meet that criteria… I admit it, I just had to have this Christmas set! I love that there are multiple layering dies for words – this is something new for Stampin’ Up! that I’ve seen other stamp companies offer. I hope that this product bundle does well and they create more like this in the future.
I used this old sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as the layout inspiration for this card. You may recognize it from an earlier post and don’t be surprised if you see it again in the future. I really like the versatility of this layout and I’m sure that I’ll be drawn to it again and again. I hope that you don’t mind the repetition, and that I create things that look different enough that it doesn’t get old and stale.
