It’s time for a slight break from Christmas. Yesterday I attended a Holiday demonstrator get-together hosted by my friend Michelle. We all made a 3-D gift that we gave to everyone and we created a make-n-take project that all the guests could create. Michelle asked the folks that attended OnStage create their make-n-take using product that we were able to get extra early because we attended that event. I chose to use the Butterfly Gala bundle for my project. Other than those elements, all of the other supplies used are currently available. It was a little like a palate cleanser to pull out some spring colors and images. This was the perfect refresher to allow me to get back to Christmas crafting.
I used this sketch challenge as the inspiration for my card. I actually whipped up this card pretty quickly after letting ideas percolate in my brain over a couple of days. I left myself very little time to create my make-n-take project, and this sketch gave me the juice I needed to pull it together in time. I have to say that I find it very interesting that the sketch says that it is a square sketch (which it does look like) and almost everyone has used the layout to create a traditional sized card (including me).
I wanted to use a color from the 2017-19 DSP pack, and I quickly narrowed in on Powder Pink. And, I wanted to try a pseudo monochromatic color scheme to create a soft looking card. So… I used this color combination when I designed my card. Definitely different than Christmas, right?
