seize_the_sketch_I_like_youYippee skippee!!! It is now August 1st and the rest of the Blendabilities alcohol markers are now available. I used a couple of the newly released ones on this card that I created for a sketch challenge that is on this week. I definitely need to keep experimenting with them to try different techniques and become more comfortable. I may go super crazy and create a one-sheet-wonder of images from this set and color them in. That may be pretty ambitious – lots of coloring – but it may be something that I tackle on a dreary weekend. I did experiment by coloring the ribbon with the lightest of the Melon Mambo markers. It was very easy to do and the color stays in the ribbon without bleeding onto your project.

I used the sketch to the right as my inspiration for the layout of this card. Rather than the circles on the right side I decided to have my knotted ribbon count for that element. I have been really looking forward to inking up this hostess set and having some quality coloring time, and the larger panel on this card layout was perfect for the job. I decided to go on the small side with the stamped words from Six Sided Sampler. I wanted the flowers to be the focal point and not distract too much from them.

What do you think? Would this card brighten your day if you received it in your snail mail?
