I’m not a real fan of Country music, but I recognize that Johnny Cash made an outsize impact on the world of music with his artistic gifts. The world lost an amazing artist when he passed away. So I’d like to recognize him on his birthday, even if he isn’t with us to celebrate.

I do have a funny Johnny Cash story to share. A few years ago my husband, my son, and I went to see “Ring of Fire” at a local summer theater. My son is not a country music fan, and he was a reluctant attendee. So I was really surprised when they asked for requests for an encore and he immediate yelled out “Sue!”. There were several other requests for the same song from the audience, so the cast obliged with “A Boy Named Sue” and he was thrilled! It’s one of those memories that just bring a smile to my face.

I really love this sketch for creating quick cards that feature coordinating patterned papers. I made a batch of 28 of these cards for the birthday card ministry at our church. I used some contraband patterned paper and other supplies that I purchased locally for these cards. The only Stampin’ Up! products are the ink, dies and stamps. I don’t often use other products because I find Stampin’ Up! products so amazing, but I am a total sucker for paisley and I just had to buy this paper. I was at a weak moment in the craft store!
