a special day to share
I hope everyone has a very wonderful Thanksgiving today with special family and friends surrounding you. I'm really looking forward to enjoying some lovely turkey and fixin's with my family today. We are a small group, but we enjoy getting together for holidays. This is a short post because I need to get cracking on assembling our stuff to head out.
The leaves were stamped using the tie die technique. It's really easy to do, and you can get some cool effects with it. Here is how to do this technique:
- Fold a damp baby wipe in half and place on something that will protect your table (like a bread plate)
- Place drops from several ink refills randomly on the baby wipe, filling in an area large enough for your stamp
- Use the baby wipe as an ink pad to ink up your stamp, and stamp as normal
- You get a beautiful multi-colored image from this technique, and you can use the wipe several times; however the inks will eventually get muddied
Here are the supplies I used to make this card:
- Stamps: Day of Gratitude
- Cardstock: More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
- Ink: Old Olive, Early Espresso
- Ink Refills: More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Old Olive
- Accessories: Decorative Label punch, metallic brad, Stampin' Dimensionals
