I just happened to check Yahoo to see what is trending right now (it's good to be "in the know" when you're blogging) and I discovered that Arsenio Hall is right up there because he's going to be making a come-back on late night TV. Now this is a name that I haven't heard in ages! I won't personally be watching the show because I turn into a pumpkin around 10:00 at night, but I do wish him the best. And what could go better with running a late night talk-show than a cup of coffee? Wink wink!
I put together this card for our stamp club gathering in July. This features one of the new stamp sets in the big catalog that came out in June. This stamp is perfect for doing the paper piecing technique to get the multiple patterns and colors on the finished cup of coffee. I created the background with a sheet of bubble wrap that I've been hoarding for ages. When I looked at the bubbles, they looked like they would make perfect coffee beans when they were "stamped" onto the paper. I just needed to have the right coffee set to go with it. Once I purchased the stamp set, I searched my stash and found that special bubble wrap. I LOVE it when a plan like that works out. Oh – I just had another thought! Wouldn't this stamp create a perfect image for a Starbucks gift card holder? I just may have to experiment a little bit…
You can check out this and other projects made with new goodies at my Open House this Friday. The RSVP date to receive a ticket has passed, but it would still be great if you could join us and have some fun. There are still lots of ways to earn raffle tickets for the door prizes, so you haven't totally missed out. Check out my post from Monday to see how you can get tickets.
I used the following supplies to make this card:
- Stamps: Perfect Blend
- Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
- Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
- Accessories: This & That Washi Tape, This & That DSP, Brayer, Dimensionals, bubble wrap from my stash of potentially useful things
