I created this card about a month ago when I was playing with some of my Occasions catalog goodies. I purcharsed the Crazy About You bundle as soon as I could from the Occasions catalog and I haven't given it enough love. I'm happy to share that the dies and stamps in that bundle are still available in the new catalog that starts up next week. There are some other elements on this card that are on the retirement list, so this is a farewell post in their honor. Goodbye Pistachio Pudding cardstock, Mellow Moss satin stitched ribbon, All Abloom DSP and the Large Scallop Edgelit; you are going to be missed. Large Scallop Edgelit – I'm going to miss you most of all (I'm channeling my inner Dorothy)! The ribbon that I used is retiring because they have created some new ribbons for the 2014-16 In Colors, but I'm super excited to share that the same style of ribbon will be available in some different colors in the new catalog. This ribbon is such a dream to work with, so I'm glad that I'll still be able to get some of it (albeit in different colors).
I drew my inspiration for the card layout from the sketch at the right. I wanted to do more with the pretty DSP you see here, and this sketch seemed perfect for using some coordinating pieces with some great colors. I also haven't done as much with this small patterned paper stack as I had envisioned, so it is good to put some more of it to use, too. I'm sure that I'll do some more projects with these papers, but they'll be off-blog since several of the products won't be available any more.
