I am not at all ready to slide into the Winter months, but perhaps some of you are starting to think about creating your holiday cards. I created this card for a demonstrator swap for the Holiday Mini catalog (and this was back in August!). I signed up for this lovely set and the Holiday Home stamp set. In return I received a whole bunch of different card fronts using a wide variety of stamps in the new catalog. I just plain love swapping! This particular swap is fantastic because I have always been very impressed with the quality of the swaps that I get in return.
I was so sad when this stamp set was released last season and then sold out within a matter of days. I was over the moon when I spied it in the new holiday catalog. Now all of you can get your own set, and I can't express well enough how versatile this set is. I love how you can combine the different words to create a huge range of greetings for your project. The designer for this set really was on the ball!
I used this color challenge from the Spring for the color combination on this card. The sequins are gold, and I embossed the word "Season" in gold embossing powder. It isn't a traditional color combo for Christmas, but I do like it a lot. I used the Oval Framelits to create a mask for sponging and stamping in the center. After I had that looking the way I wanted, I removed the mask and stamped the two bigger snowflakes and the greeting since I wanted them to extend beyond that oval. One of the nice things about this card is that it doesn't have any bulk, so it will go through the mail like a breeze.
So, are you starting to think about your Holiday cards? Or are you dreading anything related to Winter like I am.
