As I shared recently, I’m scrambling to get together some cards to send this Christmas. I made up a batch of these to further that endeavor. I do enjoy this layout because I can use a small amount of DSP and it looks like I really splurged a bunch. For this card I used two strips that are 3/4″ wide on the two edges. When I attach the matted embossed layer, you can never guess that the middle section is direct on the card base and not over the same DSP. This way I can make four cards with a single sheet of the DSP. This really pleases my frugal nature. I do have to share that the blue color that you see in the DSP and the greeting is Pretty Peacock, it looks like Navy in this photograph. I’m not sure why, but I’m noticing that my phone is not capturing the right hue for this particular color. I wonder why that is…
I looked at various sketches for inspiration and I settled on this older sketch from my favorite site. I really like this layout a lot, especially with DSP strips on the sides. What do you think, is this one a winner and are you considering making a card with this design?
And lastly – today is the day to take advantage of the free shipping offer. As long as your order is at least $50 in merchandise, you will receive FREE SHIPPING. Huzzah!
