This was one of my creations for a demonstrator swap to kick start the Occasions mini catalog. I love participating in these swaps because I always get some amazing card designs in return. And just between you and me, it gives me a reason to buy some of the new products when they come out. I have a lot of fun creating and repeatedly revising "wish lists" for the great new stuff in the new catalogs.
This card features a "bundle" stamp set with coordinating Thinlet dies. I love the versatility of the different words that are in the stamps and how you can pair them with the different words in the Thinlets. I will confess that the word Thinlets can be a little fussy to deal with, but I find that it help tremendously to put a double layer of wax paper between the cardstock and the Thinlet to help it release. I've also learned from reading online that people are having great success cutting these out by running them through the Big Shot two or three times before popping the die cut out.
I drew inspiration for the layout from this sketch that I found on-line. I didn't revise anything about the sketch when I designed this card – you can very clearly see all of the elements. I have found a few card designs on this blog, and I'm very impressed with her artistic talents.
