This card has a bit of history to it. I originally created it for a demonstrator swap featuring sets in the January – June Mini catalog; that was back in December. And I had it set aside to share here, but I didn’t get around to it (until today). And then I was coming up with ideas for the Stamp Club meeting earlier this month, and I got the brilliant idea to have the group make this card too. I really liked how this card turned out for the swap, and it was perfect for the stamp club group, too. The Hello Ladybug bundle in the mini catalog is so cute, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share it with the stamp club group.
I want to share a tip that we used at the group meeting – the Stamparatus is very helpful with this stamp set for a couple of reasons. First it allows you to re-stamp the black body if the first stamping isn’t as solid as you’d like. With the Stamparatus the repeated stamping will line up perfectly as long as you make sure that the paper is snug in the corner for every stamping. Second it allows you to line up the black dots on the wings and get them stamped positioned perfectly. I think the Stamparatus is such an amazing tool, and I can’t sing its’ praises enough.
This card features a few items that are retiring, and if you want them now’s the time to get them. The Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder and the Mint Macaron Soft Velvet ribbon are both 40% off, which is a real bargain! I both of these items and I’m sad to say goodbye. The velvet ribbon adds a wonderful tactile element to the card and paired with this embossing folder, there’s some really interesting texture on this finished card.

I used this past sketch as the design inspiration for my card. I’ve used this sketch before, and that’s because I LOVE it. There are sections to feature some DSP, a strip to show off a contrasting paper – or in this card – the beautiful velvet ribbon. There’s so much to love here that I’m sure that I’ll use this layout again in the future. 😊
