When I first saw the new-ish Annual Catalog the stamp set that I knew I had to purchase was the Layered Thoughts stamp set. This cool stamp set was inspired by a Stampin’ Up!™ demonstrator who reached $1M in sales. This is one of the cool perks that $1M achievers receive – they get to work with a company stamp designer to create a stamp set that they had been wishing for. This one is very versatile to create greetings with combined script and blocky letters. I encourage you to check it out on page 34 in the print catalog or here in the Online Store.
I created this card in a monochromatic color scheme and pulled out some retired Sale-A-Bration ribbon to add a quick extra touch to make it a bit stepped up. If you’re wondering what patterned paper I used for the background, the answer is I didn’t. I used the Painted Stripes background stamp to create the paper. This background stamp is an online exclusive, and it is really fantastic!
One thing that I want to highlight with this card is that not every creation has to be fancy with lots of elements, diecuts or other “extras”. This card is pretty simple, and I’m very confident that the recipients will appreciate receiving a hand made card. I made several of this card for the August church birthdays, and they always appreciate the cards that I make. So my point is, don’t feel like every creation has to be extra special and fancy. It is great to have some creative time, using your supplies, and especially sending out some cards to let people know you’re thinking of them.
