This was the more challenging card that we created at the November meeting for the South Burlington stamp club. I was excited by the lantern set when I first saw the Holiday catalog, and I’m happy to finally show you a project using this great bundle.
The inside of the card also features some stamping using some more images from the set. That helped dress the card up a little bit. In the list of products that I used, you will see a pack of washi tape – I used the Garden Green tape as an accent on the inside of the card. I love how there are outline images in the stamps and then fill-in stamps so you can easily create an image with the colors that you want.
The products in the bundle are retiring (which makes me sad), so if you like what you see here (or on Pinterest) then I encourage you to purchase them really soon before they go away. The Framelits are on sale, but if you want both the stamps and the Framelits, the bundle pricing is still the better deal. Additionally, the patterned paper that I used is also on the retirement list. I was a little “meh” about the papers when I first saw them, but I have absolutely fallen in love with the plaids in the papers.
I used this sketch shown here as the basis for my card design. I followed the layout very closely – the center panel features pretty DSP and the addition of a mat to separate it a bit from the card base. For the “any shape” section I created a layered image using the stamps and dies on a die-cut vellum oval. Those layers are bumped up with dimensionals to give it some extra oomph.
