This was the first card that the Essex stamp club made earlier this month. One of the members had asked for some time to learn more about the Stamparatus, so I designed this card to teach the group about the hinge technique, which is unique to this particular stamp positioning tool. We stamped the vertical panel 4 times using Flirty Flamingo ink, and in the last hinge position we stamped using Lovely Lipstick. The images were actually two stamps from the Jar of Love stamp set, and we stamped them both at the same time. It is easy-peasy, and the lovely thing with the Stamparatus is that if your ink is a little light on an image, you can simply re-ink and stamp again. The important thing is to keep checking the position of your cardstock after each stamp impression. I have found that it can shift a little bit when you lift the stamping plate when you’re using photopolymer stamps because they tend to stick to the cardstock a little.

I have to say that it was fun to re-visit some great stamps from the Annual catalog. The sets that I used here aren’t designed for Valentine’s day, but combining them with the pretty paper from the Occasions catalog results in a card that is perfect for the holiday. The tip is to check the stamps that you have – you may just find that you have something that you can use in a different way than you originally thought.

I have another wee tip for this card – I used the Lovely Lipstick Dark Stampin’ Blend marker to color one of the Heart Epoxy shapes to make it pop off the paper. You can use these alcohol based markers to color pearls, rhinestones and these shapes to customize them to colors you’re using. Huzzah!

I invite you to try out the Stamparatus – I have found it to be a great tool for my stamping projects. I especially love it when I am creating multiples of a single card. Once I have the images lined up, I can stamp a bunch and each one will turn out as good as the others. If you have any questions on the Stamparatus I am here to help you out – just reach out to me and I’ll do my best to assist.
