This was the simpler card from the South Burlington stamp club gathering in November. I really love the combination of the Mitten dies with the Cable Knit dynamic embossing folder and the mitten pattern from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper (DSP). I think that they go together so perfectly! And this card design goes together super quickly, so it would be very easy to mass produce. After all, we are at the point in the season where easy mass production is VERY important.
I used this sketch as the basis for my design. I really enjoy using the trick of using strips of DSP on the sides – it allows me to be frugal with my usage of the DSP, and accomplish a look like I’m free and easy with it! I did use a sentiment from a different set because I wanted something that was more clearly Christmas for the front. The word “Smitten” from the coordinating stamp set just doesn’t feel Christmas-y to me. Don’t get me wrong – I think it will be great for Valentine’s or some other event, so I definitely encourage you to consider this bundle before it goes away (it is retiring after the Holiday catalog is done).
