Yesterday one of my co-workers asked me “do you think the world needs more love?”. This was a question out of the blue when we were exchanging good mornings. You have to know him to understand that he is a quirky guy. But… his question caused me to ponder briefly and respond that what I think the world really needs more of is kindness. I may be overly nostalgic and doing some revisionist thinking, but it seems to me that the general rule of being with others was kindness. Now, you can definitely still see kindness, but there is so much rudeness and nastiness that it feels harder to find. So – my wish for you is to see more kindness in your world, and my challenge to everyone is to show more kindness. Just a friendly smile with a “good morning” to a stranger is more of what we need.
This was one of the cards that I created for the In Color club last year. This one was featuring Tranquil Tide and I love the colors together. Interestingly enough, the patterned paper that I used here doesn’t actually have Tranquil Tide in it. I committed a faux pas and didn’t check the colors before I dove in with the paper. Even so, I do really like how this card turned out, and I think that the colors work well together. So much of what I used on this card is retiring (or already discontinued), so I wanted to share it to perhaps tickle your fancy to grab some of these goodies before they are gone for good. I am very sad that the beautiful Soft Sky will be leaving our color toolkit. We are getting some beautiful new colors, so I’m not in total despair. If this is a color that you love, then you’ll want to snatch it up quickly while you still can. I believe that the coordinating Framelits that I used are no longer available, but this particular butterfly image isn’t horrible to “fussy cut”. Another tidbit is that I used the Envelope Punch Board to round the upper right and bottom left corners of the main panel of the card. Sometimes a rounded corner is a simple, but lovely element.
I hope your day is filled with kindness!
