thankful_grunge_mapleI am taking some time off this week to relax and prepare for the Thanksgiving festivities. I have been doing a number of different things to fill my time, and I was inspired to make a few Thanksgiving cards. I have never sent cards for this holiday, but I decided this year that I might give it a try (on a small scale). A lot of this card was inspired by a card shared on a blog. I did change it up a little bit to make it my own, but I definitely used the other card for the launch of my idea.  This is the first time that I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and I am in love! Look for some more grungy fun to come in the future. smiley

thankful_grunge_insideBecause I used a dark card base, I needed to include a light panel on the inside so that my writing would be legible. I could use my white gel pen, which I love dearly, but I wanted to take the opportunity to further decorate the card. The sentiment inside is actually from a retired stamp set, but I thought that it was perfect for this card.

I am extremely thankful for many things this Thanksgiving – my family, my friends, an intriguing job, a wonderful church community and hobbies that feed my creative soul. And I'm also thankful for all of the wonderful people that I have met through stamping – I have added many people to my list of friends through this hobby/business, and I feel very blessed to know each and every one of them. I wish you a wonderful holiday filled with special times that remind you of all that you are thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving, and let the eating commence!
