This is the card featuring Pale Papaya that I designed for the In Color Club. I really like this particular color combination; there’s a nice contrast between each of the colors but they complement each other very nicely. There’s no clashing here!

Way back in July when I was creating this card I had a bunch of fun using some new (at the time) products for this card. The Pansy Petals patterned paper has some gorgeous colors, and I’m thrilled that three of the “B Side” papers have gingham patterns in 3 of the colors including Pale Papaya. I also was thrilled to try out the Basic Borders dies for the first time – there are some great border edges among those dies! This card has lots of visual and tactile texture, and it is still soothing to the eye.

I used this past sketch as the inspiration for my card layout. I like the way that these elements come together and the different sections are a great way to show off sections of patterned paper or embossing. I am very confident that I’ll come back to this sketch over and over because it really calls to me.

The Stitched Rectangle die that I used fit the greeting perfectly, and I really like how it frames the sentiment. I did add some round gems, so it is a little lumpy for going through the mail. I’ll have to be careful and probably pay extra for hand cancelling when I send this card. Although, I hope that I’m not late getting out a birthday greeting, so it would be great if I never need to send it 😉 .
