For this card I used the Paper Florist dies to create the corner floral spray. I absolutely love these dies that are one of the hidden gems in the catalog. They aren’t part of a bundle so it is easy to miss them when you’re perusing the catalog. The variety of the multi-layer flowers and 3 types of leaves combined with all of the great colors of cardstock are a joy for a flower-lover like me. As I said to a friend recently, I’m a sucker for flower stamps and the same is true for flower dies. When you add ink with the Blending Brushes the possibilities are amazing. I encourage you to check them out!

This sketch challenge from the Global Design Project blog was the inspiration for my card. The large focal area seemed like a perfect spot to place a few of these pretty diecut flowers. Instead of adding a layer for the greeting strip, I stamped it directly on the deckled rectangle layer. I thought that I already had a lot going on with the flowers, so I wanted the greeting to be clearly visible but not distracting from the flowers. Also having a large white background for that focal area allowed the things I wanted to pop to stand out while giving enough whitespace so your eyes get a break.

I was inspired by the 2023 Color Coach for the color combination that I used for my card. This combination is one of the options for Bubble Bath. I knew that I wanted to use Pretty Peacock because I wanted to use some of the Hello, Irresistable patterned paper. So I could easily do a search in the PDF for Pretty Peacock to find all of the recommended combos. You can open and download the Color Coach here. There are some fantastic suggestions, and it is very helpful in figuring out colors to use together.
