This is the first card that we made at the South Burlington club gathering in January. The layers are what made this card a little more involved (thus earning first-spot honors for the evening). For the embossed layer I was inspired by one of the samples in the Parisian Blossoms Suite spread in the January – June Mini catalog. To achieve the softer look, I embossed Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the absolutely go-juss Parisian Flourish embossing folder. Then I lightly applied Whisper White Craft ink with a sponge dauber to soften and clarify the raised portions of the paper. I really love the look! You really can achieve some great looks with embossing folders, and I like the added texture to the finished card.

I used this sketch design as the inspiration for my card layout. I thought the diagonal strip was a perfect opportunity to include a little of the pretty DSP without going overboard. And the center panel was a perfect spot to showcase the Eiffel tower and the pretty diecut “Amour”. What do you think?
