A peaceful Holiday wishAs I'm starting to turn my mind toward Holiday crafting and all those cards that I want to send, I'm struck by how appropriate this sentiment is, especially in our current world situation. I've always thought of the "Peace On Earth" sentiment for the holidays, and that is certainly how Stampin' Up! is marketing this set since it is named Calm Christmas. But… with the recent shootings in the Navy Yard and horrible things happening in civil wars and unrest in the Middle East, I think this sentiment is appropriate at any time, and we need some peace right now.

I created this card as one of my swap entries for an organized demonstrator swap for the Holiday catalog. I created this card back in July to meet the deadline, and I'm happy to finally be showing it to you here. This card features several items from the Holiday catalog: the embossed writing, the DSP, the silver ribbon, and the stamp images. This is really easy to create, but it is definitely not a standard Hallmark card.

I used the following supplies to make this card:

  • Stamps: Calm Christmas
  • Cardstock: Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Whisper White
  • Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate
  • Accessories: Ovals Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Silver 1/8" ribbon, Winter Frost DSP, Pretty Print embossing folder, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponges
