For a few months now I have been meeting up with some ladies from our church to create birthday cards that are sent for the birthday card ministry. A group of amazing, big-hearted women have been sending birthday greetings for years to the adults in our church. I volunteered to design handmade cards that they can send, and then I meet up with some gals who help me assemble them. We created 34 of this card this month, and the May birthday folks will be receiving one (including my husband). I have fun doing this, and every month the assemblers tell me how thrilled the card senders and the recipients are with our creations. I am definitely blessed to be able to share the fruits of this labor with my church family.

I used this current sketch as the inspiration for my card design. I pulled out some retired birthday DSP for the vertical panel and used current products for the rest of the design. I think the card design could use a little something more, but I’m not quite sure what. I do try to keep the assembly from being too involved since the volunteers that help me aren’t experienced card makers (although they are getting there).
