I had some creative mojo flowing over the weekend and I had some time to play. This is the first card that I created; it was my endeavor for Saturday along with a few errands. I still adore the Two Tone Flora stamps and I had a lot of fun using them for this card. However, my big goal was to use the Good Feelings stamp set. I purchased that set a while ago, and I hadn’t used it yet. I recently decided that I would prioritize using each of the stamp sets that I haven’t used yet. I always feel bad when a set I purchased is retired and I never used it. So… my new goal is to make sure that I use what I have. I’ve flagged each of the unused sets in my catalog so I don’t lose track of those sets and I’m reminded to focus on using them. I hope that the next retirement cycle won’t find me feeling chagrin over unused stamps.
You’ll notice that I have two colors on the Good Feelings image. It is super easy to achieve that look, and I encourage you to give it a try. Here are the steps that I did to achieve this:
- ink the stamp with Flirty Flamingo ink
- wipe off the ink from “heart” portion with a dry cloth, being careful to avoid the script above it
- color the “heart” portion with the brush tip of the Berry Burst marker
- exhale on the full stamp to re-moisten the ink
- stamp on white cardstock
I used this current challenge as the inspiration for my card; I chose the middle row: Pink / Die Cut / Stencil. I decided to really lean into the pink! The color of some of the flowers in the photo leans more orange, but IRL they are definitely pink. The flower combinations are Bubble Bath with Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo with Berry Burst. I used one of the Foursquare stencils (Stampin’ Up! calls them decorative masks) to add some color to the background. I really love those stencils and I think I’ll use them A LOT!
Thanks Tic Tac Toe Challenge for another great inspiration! I can’t wait to see the options in the next challenge.
