I just made up a WHOLE BUNCH of these cards for the birthday card ministry at church. August is one of, if not THE, biggest month for birthdays in our church, so a large number of cards were needed. I have been busy doing lots of things and I procrastinated in making the August cards. This all meant that I needed a card design that would go together quickly and still look good. Thank goodness for this nice large greeting from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set! In fact, I purchased this set a few months ago specifically for the birthday card ministry. I figured that I would be able to get a lot of use out of those stamps, and the extra-large one came in handy this month.
I used some non-Stampin’ Up! patterned paper that I had on hand to cover the front of the card, and then I added the matted greeting with Dimensionals to finish the card. When you’re creating in volume, you have to think about how to make it all work and come together quickly. I have a pretty big stash of paper that I’ve accumulated over the years for various projects, so it’s good to use a teeny-tiny portion of it for a worthy cause. Actually, my stash isn’t just “pretty big” – it is freakin’ ginormous, and any dent I can make is all good. This card is one sample of the cards, but it was my personal favorite color combination. Thankfully some of the Stampin’ Up! colors worked wonderfully with this other brand of paper, so I didn’t have to go shopping anywhere to get the cards done. Thank goodness – because I didn’t have time!
