one for me, one for you We made these at Leadership

Isn't this just a happy card?!?  (Sorry that it is leaning in the picture.)  This was one of the make & takes that we created at the Leadership conference in San Antonio.  What's really cool about this one is that all of the participants actually made two of these cards.  We got to keep one of them and the other was donated to Ronald McDonald House.  RMHC is a charity that Stampin' Up! has supported for many years.  Every year in the catalog they feature a stamp set where they donate a portion of the proceeds to RMHC.  Stampin' Up! also coordinates local demonstrator volunteers to assist at the local chapters; this is definitely a charity that is near and dear to the "heart" of the company.

This card had a couple of fun surprises when we were making it.  The first is the red "ric-rac" on the front. This is actually made using the Scallop border punch!  You punch one side, and then when you punch the other side, you start with the end off-set by 1/2 of the scallop.  Isn't that super cool?!?  The second one is the white flower, which is actually two flowers that have been punched and stacked.  The top flower is cut on the petal "dents" , curled a little bit and layered with dimensionals to make it more 3D.  It's these little touches that really make hand made cards stand out from the store-bought variety.

We used the following materials for this card:

  • Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Thank You Kindly
  • Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade
  • Ink: Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
  • Accessories: Blossom punch, Scallop Border punch, Brights buttons, Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine, Blossom Builders kit
