This card features two of my favorite things available during Sale-A-Bration this year, the Lotus Blossom stamp set and the Irresistably Yours Specialty DSP. These two items were on my first order during the pre-order period because I just knew that I would love them (and I was right).
I have seen so many gorgeous cards created with the Lotus Blossom stamp. People have experimented with stamping off and creating interesting color combinations, and they turn out so amazing every single time. The Irresistably Yours paper is great for creating an accent in any color, and you can use different techniques to color the paper. I sponged ink on for this card, but you could use a brayer or a spritzer for some different looks. I highly recommend that you get some of this paper when you have the chance and do some of your own experiments.
There is a little secret/surprise going on here, too. It may look like I used some white bakers twine to create the bow on the flower, but I learned an awesome tip that I'll share here. See that wide ribbon that is doubled up underneath the stamped panel? That is some of the go-juss White Jute ribbon from page 43 of the Occasions catalog. I trimmed off the edge of a 7" piece of the jute and then pulled out two of the white threads. I tied them into a bow a attached it with a glue dot. I find that the strands from the jute work perfectly for bows, and it seems a little softer, too.
