santa_flying_over_forestCan't you just picture Santa making his way over a snowy forest to get to the next home for his gift deployments? Here we are at the last possible day for finishing up all those details, and while you're getting ready, Santa is out there taking care of Europe, Asia and Africa. I hope that your celebrations (if any) this evening allow for a few moments of quiet to relax and take it all in.

I was happy to pull out the "Old Faithful" of stamp sets to create this card. I remember hearing about a comment made by Shelli Gardner (CEO of Stampin' Up!) at a Leadership conference that I attended a few years ago. Some one was commenting in the rest room about how they hoped that they never retired "that" stamp set. A minute or so later, Shelli came out of the stall and asked if they were talking about Lovely As A Tree. When they confirmed that was the case, she responded "I knew it, I just KNEW it! You guys will NEVER let us retire that set!" I keep finding ways to use the images in that set, so I definitely am in the camp that hopes it never goes away. I used the sleigh image from the Holiday Home stamp set from the Holiday catalog. I think the masking, the glitter on the ridges and the pretty embossed frame combine to make this a winner of a card.

I went to my usual color combination site for some inspiration for this card. The little bit of Calypso Coral is certainly unexpected on a Christmas card, but I think the little amount used here adds a nice contrast to the monochromatic look.
