Sending prayers and sympathy

It is very helpful to have a supply of sympathy cards on hand.  That is just one of those life events where you want to get a card out as soon as you hear the news.  I really like the simplicity of this white on white card that features a touch of color with the crumb cake ink and the mat behind the greeting.  This card would be suitable to send to anyone that is grieving.

I created the tree image using a technique called emboss resist.  I stamped the image in VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I applied ink with a teeny-tiny stencil brush so it extended a bit beyond the edges of the embossed image, and then wiped with a paper towel to remove the ink from the embossed area.  I like the subtlety and simplicity this technique creates.

I used the following materials to make this card:

  • Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers
  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Crumb Cake
  • Ink: VersaMark, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories:  White embossing powder, Scallop Oval punch, Large Oval punch, Finial Press embossing folder, Basic Pearls
