Showcasing some wonderful products Lot's of freebies here

This is a card that I created for a Sale-A-Bration swap with a lovely group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The requirements for the swap were to use at least one product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure (I used 3), incorporate at least 1 embellishment and use only Stampin' Up! products that are currently available. I received so many lovely cards in return, and I am very happy with how my contribution turned out, too. I also incorporated a technique called "faux stitching" to create the stitched look on the card. You can find instructions below on how to create the zig-zag faux stitching look.

I used the following supplies to make this card:

  • Stamps: Patterned Occasions
  • Cardstock: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
  • Ink: Island Indigo
  • Accessories: Sycamore Street DSP, Sycamore Street ribbon & button, Island Indigo marker, Pool Party Bakers Twine, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

Here is how to do the "faux stitching" technique:

  1. Use the paper piercing template with the straight lines of holes
  2. Line up the lines so that you have two rows that are on either side of what you want to "stitch" over
  3. Pierce the holes in an alternating fashion between the two rows
  4. Draw a line connecting the pierced holes using a Stampin' Write marker to create the stitched look
