This is a card that I created for a Sale-A-Bration swap with a lovely group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The requirements for the swap were to use at least one product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure (I used 3), incorporate at least 1 embellishment and use only Stampin' Up! products that are currently available. I received so many lovely cards in return, and I am very happy with how my contribution turned out, too. I also incorporated a technique called "faux stitching" to create the stitched look on the card. You can find instructions below on how to create the zig-zag faux stitching look.
I used the following supplies to make this card:
- Stamps: Patterned Occasions
- Cardstock: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Sahara Sand, Whisper White
- Ink: Island Indigo
- Accessories: Sycamore Street DSP, Sycamore Street ribbon & button, Island Indigo marker, Pool Party Bakers Twine, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack
Here is how to do the "faux stitching" technique:
- Use the paper piercing template with the straight lines of holes
- Line up the lines so that you have two rows that are on either side of what you want to "stitch" over
- Pierce the holes in an alternating fashion between the two rows
- Draw a line connecting the pierced holes using a Stampin' Write marker to create the stitched look
