I was contacted a couple of months ago to do a card making session for staff at a local school. The request was fairly open-ended: 2 cards, winter themed, definitely not Holiday. The other card is much more Wintery than this one is, but I think that this card is fine because it isn’t specific to a certain season. This birthday card can be sent any time of the year, and I decided it fit the brief. The Pretty Medallion stamp could possibly be interpreted to be snowflake-esque and that was enough for me. What ultimately matters is that the class participants like it and they all seemed pretty pleased. Definitely a win! It was so fun to enjoy some crafting time with the group, and they appreciated a low-stress opportunity to hang out and be creative.

This sketch from 2017 was the inspiration for my card layout. I knew that I wanted to use some of the absolutely go-juss Splendid Day Specialty DSP, and the 2 vertical strips seemed like the perfect way to do that. I also knew that I wanted to use the Pretty Medallion stamp, and the large space on the right seemed perfect for a portion of that image. This card is really quite easy to put together, and the group had no struggles with it. (I will confess that I had prepped all of the layers including the die cutting in the interest of time.) They stamped the images without a peep of displeasure and all of the cards turned out beautifully.

I want to call your attention (again) to the Splendid Day Specialty DSP. As I said, it is stunning. But even better… it’s on sale! It’s one of the products that has been discounted as part of the Last Chance retiring products. This paper originally was $15 and you can now get a pack for $6!!!
