I admit it, I'm a total sucker for "fun fold" cards, in other words cards that open in unique ways. This one is called a side-step card, and I've been hankering to try one for quite a while. I designed this one for the card buffet earlier this month. I wanted to use some non-traditional colors so that the guests would have some choices (and they wouldn't all be needing the same inks all the time). I will say that the bottom of the card is a little bulky in the envelope because the right side ends up being 6 layers of cardstock just for the card base and the matted layers on top add even more. Hopefully the post office machines won't plotz when they process these…
The stamped greetings on this card are from two different My Paper Pumpkin kits; the lower panel greeting is from the holiday card kit from 2013 and the upper right greeting is from the November kit from 2014. Aren't they pretty? And I pulled out the Subtles Designer Series Paper stack to add some patterns to the design. The mosaic punch makes it so easy to punch out those stamped images, and they are perfect as wee ornaments. I did dip into my retired stash of goodies for the silver cord that I used for the ornament hangers and the bow. I love that cord so much, I just wish that they would bring it back; it is so versatile and useful.
