I’ve signed up for an online cardmaking class that’s scheduled for Sunday, and I can’t wait! I’ll have to do most of it via replay because we have a few things that were already on the calendar. That’s one of the great aspects of online classes – you can usually do them at your own pace because of technology options like YouTube. Anyhow… the reason that I bring this up is because I’ve been pulling together various supplies that I need for the class. One of the sessions is about using embossing paste, and I decided that I wanted to do some extra creating with this cool medium. You can do some interesting things with embossing paste. For this card I used a stencil to apply the paste to get these great snowflakes and then I sprinkled some retired glitter over the paste before it dried. The picture doesn’t do it justice so you’ll have to believe me when I say that the snowflakes are very sparkly. I can’t wait to see what I do with embossing paste in the class! I’m sure that I’ll learn some really cool stuff.
This sketch challenge was the inspiration for my card design. I really love this sketch – it can be used for so many different looks. The Paper Florist dies would be perfect for a diagonal spray of flowers, leaves from the Gorgeously Made dies would be cool, or a summery feel with the Season of Chic stamps and coordinating dies. Another option is to emulate the sketch and use a bunch of different sized circles in pretty patterned paper. The possibilities are endless!
I love the sprinkling of snowflakes! And that sparkly ribbon is a great accent for the sentiment. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Thanks so much Kim – I had a lot of fun with the challenge!
This card is so wintery! I love those sparkly snowflakes and the little ribbon hanging down! Enjoy your online class! I love the ability to watch the replay! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thanks so much Jen! Your kind words brightened my day, and I really enjoyed the online class.
