I created this card to participate in two challenges. I haven't been stamping quite as much lately as I would like, so it was fun to bust out some stamps and ink to create this pretty card for these challenges. Both of the challenges are ending today, so I'm posting (and participating) just under the wire! And I'm adding another entry to my New Year's resolution to participate in challenges while they are still active.
The sequins were a late addition to the card because I wasn't quite "feeling it" and I like the little bit extra that they add. I dearly wish that Stampin' Up! would offer some sequins in iridescent pastel colors, but I made do here with some Old Olive sequins from the Brights Sequins.
It has been ages since I made a square card, so I decided to stick to that aspect of the sketch. I usually avoid square cards because of the extra postage that is required. But I'll let you in on a secret – If you make your card 4 1/4" x 4 1/4", you can still use a regular A2 envelope and avoid the whole extra postage deal. The patterned paper at the bottom of the card is from the "B" side of the Serene Scenery stack. The front side is the blue-ish word pattern which seems a little wonky to me. The patterns in these papers are fantastic, so you can expect to see more creations with them.
I also haven't participated in a color challenge in AGES! When I received notification of this one, I knew that I had to do my best to enter a submission while it was active. I adore the soft colors on this challenge, and I hope that I did it justice with my entry. I don't have the new flamingo stamp from Stampin' Up!; I think it would have been fun to incorporate that image into the sketch as another tie-in to the color challenge. Wouldn't that be cute?

Thanks so much Joyce! I use the combinations from ColourQ a lot when I’m creating, so I’m especially happy to use a color challenge while it’s still “in play”.
