This was the longer card that the South Burlington stamp club group created at the December gathering. Last month I spoiled them by doing a bunch of the die-cutting in advance; I was too pressed for time to be that nice this month. So… it took us a while to get this card put together. Thankfully the gals were gracious and enjoyed our time together while working through this card. I think that they were happy with the finished design, having some sparkle never hurts.
To create the background, we sponged with the Seaside Spray ink first covering the whole piece of white cardstock. Then we sponged the outer areas with the Balmy Blue ink, ending finally with a touch of Night of Navy at the outermost edges. You really can create some beautiful backgrounds with ink and sponges; it just takes some patience and practice.
The New Year diecut is actually a stack of three. First we removed the “s” off the end of Year, then we glued them together to create a thicker sentiment which stands out more. The small stars on the sentiment panel are from the star centers from the swirly pieces – we crafters hate to have anything go to waste.
Finally, I have to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope that 2020 brings many creative opportunities and that you are blessed in all things. Hugs!
