Without all the glitter mess
This is another card that we made in our last stamp club meeting. We had just finished the holidays, so it seemed a little crazy to be doing Valentine's Day projects. But, that is the nature of these holidays – we've just finished one and it's time to start preparations for the next one; especially when you're making some special hand made gifts for people.
I love this technique for adding some glitz to a card, but unfortunately it doesn't photograph very well. In this picture, it looks like a cute card with a bunch of different hearts. Nice, but not especially unique. However, what the camera failed to pick up, is that multi-heart-stamped panel is all glittery. It definitely makes the card a lot more interesting and unique.
You'll need these materials to recreate this card:
- Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts, Delightful Dozen
- Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade
- Ink: Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Blushing Bride, Early Espresso
- Markers: Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso
- Accessories: Poppy Parade 1/2" Stitched poly ribbon, Decorative Label punch, Extra Large Oval punch, Pinking Hearts Border punch
The Dazzling Diamond Dust technique is really easy; here's how you do it:
- Stamp the image(s) on light colored cardstock.
- Apply VersaMark ink over the whole stamped panel.
- Spinkle Iridescent Ice embossing powder over the panel.
- Heat emboss the panel – make sure to hold the edges carefully to avoid removing embossing powder and getting burned.
