It’s been a while since I shared a project from the Stampin’ Up! Creativity event that happened a while ago. This is the 3rd card that we created that evening and it’s a great view of 4 of the foil patterns in the absolutely gorgeous Splendid Day Specialty patterned paper. One of the cool things about this card is that it uses all of the products that are in the Splendid Day Suite. I don’t know if you realize but a few catalogs ago Stampin’ Up! added a way to order a full suite with a single item number. You get the bundle savings on the stamp set/die package and the convenience of ordering everything with a single code. In this case it is 159681. It’s a small thing, and I appreciate the convenience.
The demonstrator that walked us through creating this card was an absolute hoot. She was joining us while on vacation and she was video-ing from their AirBnB. Now that is bravery to me! I would want to be at home where I am comfortable with my internet connection and the physical layout of whatever room I might use for the presentation. I can’t imagine taking that on the road, not to mention packing all of the equipment that you’d need to do videography while traveling. She was an absolute hoot! When she was showing the distressed edge on the white background layer she noticed a bunch of paper dust was on the table and she just wiped it onto the floor and wasn’t sweating the mess since she wasn’t home. Not how I would roll, and she was likely joking, but it definitely made her presentation feel like a “regular person” was sharing. Stampin’ Up! frequently has demonstrators do presentations to get that authentic vibe and I love it. I wonder if the World Card Making Day online event (I included info in my recent newsletter) will have the same vibe. If you missed the newsletter, check your inbox for a message on September 16th.
