I haven’t created with the Season of Chic stamps and coordinating dies as much as I should! This set really is for all seasons, the images cover all four seasons of the year and the greetings are so useful. I’ve used the flower and snowflake images in the set, and this is the first time that I’m using the seashells. Thinking about the seashore is a very summer vibe for me. It makes me thinks of several vacations to Cape Cod, Maine and Florida (not in the summer, but it felt like summer). You can see some Soft Sea Foam fronds in the background behind my shells. I believe this die is intended to be leaf-y, but I decided to use it like seaweed to give more of the sea feel. It made me think of images of kelp beds that I’ve seen in some underwater videos. If you haven’t noticed these stamps and dies, then I encourage you to check them out. They really are pretty amazing.
This current challenge from the Tic, Tac Toe Challenge blog was the inspiration for my card. I used the middle column: Stitching, Die Cut and Summer. I used two die sets to get some stitching on my card; the Stitched with Whimsy dies and the Basic Borders dies. I really love both of these dies, and it was great to pull them out and use them again. I haven’t used either of them for a while so it was great to re-discover them.
In fact, this reminds me… when you’re creating it can be very satisfying to use something that you have and haven’t used for a while. It’s like getting something new but not spending the money. You’re being creative and thrifty at the same time. Also, the more you use something that you have, the better you’ll feel about the purchase that you made.
Andrea, what a wonderful layout and mix of colors. This beachy vibe is so lovely. Thanks for sharing it at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.
Thanks so much Rosanne – I had fun creating a summer-y card for the challenge!
