I decided to show the Essex stamp club the hinged die-cut technique as well this month. This time I featured the tea set from the Occasions catalog and the Ovals dies. I have to confess that I went a little crazy with coloring projects this month, but this pretty tea stamp set just screams to be colored, so I indulged myself. The wonderful thing about this set is that a coordinating set of Framelits is available as a “tier 2” Sale-A-Bration option. We didn’t use the dies for this card, but I’m looking forward to inking this set up again and taking the chance to use the dies.
This card flips up with a single acetate hinge, unlike the cupcake card that I shared previously that had two hinge pieces. I initially tried with two hinge pieces, but given the rounded edge of the die-cut, it didn’t operate as well as I wanted. So, I started over and made it a second time with a single hinge which makes it work much better.
I’m still offering the tutorial for my Valentine’s Day sampler for orders > $50. While we are past Valentine’s Day this year, you could still create this pretty sampler so that you have it to display for the holiday next year. If you place a qualifying order, make sure that you aren’t doing a “No Contact” order because I won’t get the information I need to forward the tutorial to you.
