Thoughtful Watercolor

I made a very large batch of these cards for May and early June birthdays for the card ministry at our church. I made a small batch that I shared here to stock the ministry for the beginning of the month, but needed a bunch more for the rest of the month. Both of the cards used the Thoughtful Journey paper which is on the Last Chance list. I just looked it up and noticed that the paper is flagged as “Low Inventory”, so if you want some you need to shop ASAP to make sure that you get it before it is gone.

I used this sketch as the inspiration for my card. The circle element is smaller and I added a banner for my greeting, but I think you can see how my card follows the sketch layout.

I used a non-Stampin’ Up! coverplate die to add some visual texture to the paper on the left side of my card. I have several of these from other companies and I absolutely love them. I initially tried to use the Eyelet Blooms die which was the Product of the Month for April, but decided against it because there are little dots to pop out all over the die. Don’t get me wrong – it is absolutely gorgeous and I love it! But, it isn’t the die to use when you need to do mass production.

Speaking of Product of the Month (POM), there is a new one for May. The product this month is some beautiful vellum that you can check out here. It is called Berry Botanical vellum and it is absolutely gorgeous. Like all of the POM products, it is available while supplies last and everyone is limited to purchasing one of the product. Once your shopping cart has reached $75 in merchandise you will be prompted to select a POM for $5. The new vellum is great, and there are still a couple of products from previous months.

Also starting in May is a whole new catalog and a batch of new Online Exclusive items. Both of these became available on May 5th, and there really is some gorgeous products! The ones that I’m really intrigued with is the Shimmer Brushes in the new In Colors. I haven’t purchased them yet, but I’ll for sure be getting the Hydrangea Hue one on my next order.
