This is the card that I created to feature Magenta Madness for the 2020-22 In Color Club. I have to say that the color is pretty bright and powerful, so I was a little nervous about using it. Fear not! I pulled out the Nothing’s Better Than bundle to create this card, and I think a pretty cocktail is perfect to highlight this color. I immediately fell in love with this bundle when I saw it in the big catalog, and I had a lot of fun creating this card with it. I stacked 3 of the “Cocktails” diecut to create a focal point with extra depth (this is one of my favorite techniques with diecut words). For the lime I used Granny Apple Green, but I stamped it off on scrap paper once first to get a more lime-like image. I just love how all of this comes together for the focal image on this card! And who isn’t dreaming of a tropical drink near the beach right now as we slog through deepest winter? I know that I would really love a getaway to a tropical isle right now, but alas that isn’t happening this year. Damn COVID!

When I saw this new challenge on the Just Add Ink challenge blog, I was super-excited that I had the perfect card to submit! I used sponge brayers to create the background for this bright and cheery card. These brayers add color lightly, so you have to go back and forth a bunch to achieve deeper colors. This is good though because it makes it easier to avoid adding too much ink by mistake. I also used a sponge dauber for the cocktail image. I inked the image with 2 colors, and then used the dauber to smooth the transition between the colors by lightly tapping with the dauber.
