The other day I shared a post showing the “floating frame” technique that I shared with the South Burlington stamp club. This is the second card that the club made using the center rectangle that is left over when you die cut to create the frame. I love having nothing go to waste, and using the rectangle that is cut out creates a different looking card.

For this card we nested two of the stitched rectangles to die cut the white frame that you see. We then used pieces of the foam strips to easily pop up that frame on the card base. The foam strips are a little thicker than Dimensionals, so the finished card has multiple layers of depth. The rest of the card creation followed the same techniques as the card that I previously shared. This card definitely went quicker since a bunch of the work for both cards was done at once. And… this one requires a lot less Dimensionals since the raised Tropical Chic images are a lot less. We did have to cut down some Dimensionals to raise up small images that were left over when the rectangle was cut out of the center.
