I needed to make a batch of cards for the January birthdays for our church card ministry. This time I decided to use some of my new patterned paper that was the Product of the Month (POM) in December. This pretty paper is called True Blue Florals and it is still available. The colors are primarily Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, and the paper is so lovely! Blue is my favorite color and Stampin’ Up!™ created some beautiful patterns in this pack.

The POM is a new thing that Stampin’ Up! is offering that started in December. The way it works is pretty straightforward; any order that is > $75 (before tax and shipping) is eligible to add a POM for $5. The products that are offered will be available while supplies last. I just barely checked and this patterned paper (True Blue Florals) is still available in the online store. There is no guarantee that supplies will be available for the whole month, so if you really love one when it is issued you should consider grabbing it while you can. The types of products will vary, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else the company offers.

This is a different layout that features another pattern of the DSP. To create the two card designs I cut up two different sheets of the True Blue Florals DSP. I dug through my archives and found a really old One Sheet Wonder (OSW) instruction set for 6×6 pieces of patterned paper. I cut the DSP sheets into 4 6″x6″ pieces and then cut each of those per the instructions for the OSW. I added embossed cardstock and placed both on a thick white card base. A 3/8″ strip of cardstock adds some visual differentiation between the embossed layer and the DSP. Stamp a greeting, diecut, add some retired ribbon and I had a large batch of pretty cards ready super-quick. I love it and I hope the January birthday folks love them, too! I just remembered – the stamp set that I used is from a Paper Pumpkin kit from ages ago. Those stamps are great to pull out and continue to use them. If you have some, pull them out and give them some stamping love.
