chalkboard_paper_SABWe made this card at our last stamp club meeting in March. The greeting here is from one of the (now unavailable) Sale-A-Bration sets, but I still wanted to share it since we used the Rose Coral chalk ink on the chalkboard paper for the stamped circle on the card. The stamp used and the button aren't available now, but the rest of the items are. You can find the chalkboard paper and the chalk inks (along with many other fantastic products) in the Occasions catalog.

The chalkboard paper is unique – you can tell that the two sides of the paper are different. The "velvety" side is the one you use with the chalk inks. If you stamp with the chalk inks on the reverse side the image almost invisible. You can tell the right side to stamp on because light doesn't reflect off it when you shift the paper around. A word of warning – the chalk ink takes quite a while to dry on the chalkboard paper. We used the heat tool to speed things along at the club meeting.

I was inspired in designing this card by the sketch shown here. The sketches on this site look so basic, but the designs that people share for them are just gorgeous. The focus of these sketches is on "clean and simple", but that doesn't mean that the cards shared on the site are boring.
