reminds me of yester-year
I originally created this card for a workshop back in October. I wanted to include a Christmas card that was easy to create, but didn't look simple. I grabbed my Bells & Boughs stamps to create this card – I love it when I can create a card with only one stamp set! The bottom panel is stamped in Gumball Green, to create the tone-on-tone effect. The greeting is stamped, punched and then the edges are sponged to add a little age to the image. One of the attendees at the workshop commented that it reminded her of a more vintage Christmas color scheme, and the greeting is certainly in that style.
I have to confess that I grabbed the color scheme from a DSP pack that is in the Holiday mini catalog, called Snow Festival. I dropped Baja Breeze for my card, but I love these colors together. If you are ever looking for a combination of colors to work with, look no further than the DSP section of your Stampin' Up! catalog. Stampin' Up! creates some wonderful combinations for their papers, and you can leverage their ingenuity when your creating something of your own. Give it a try!
